Holy Sunday is a portrayal of a Sunday in a small town and what it represents to different people.
It is an adaptation of Milan Milišić's poem "Holy Sunday and Others," which itself appears as an entire universe in miniature. This universe is, through this film, transposed into the present day, which in many ways is, and in many ways is not, different from the time in which the poem was written. We spend Sundays engaged in various leisure activities, rituals, established routines, or self-imposed obligations – and we neither see, hear, nor care what Sunday is like for our neighbor, for one of the cashiers, for the waitress at the local cafe, for the girl returning home in the morning after a Saturday night out...
